171 Chadwick Road Commercial Re-roof
Occupied Commercial Property Roof Re-construction Project
This project involved the complete re-pitch and reconstruction of an existing roof while the building remained operational. The building housed three different tenants, all associated with the food industry, who required full-time operation during the construction. As a result, extensive health and safety requirements were put in place to ensure the safety of the workers and the tenants below.
The project began with the removal of the existing roof, which revealed some unexpected issues with the underlying structure. These issues required significant repairs and modifications to the roof trusses and the supporting steelwork, as well as the installation of new insulation and roofing materials.
One of the main challenges of the project was ensuring the safety of the tenants during construction. This involved implementing strict safety protocols and ensuring that all workers were properly trained and equipped to work in a food-grade environment. Additionally, the construction team had to work around the tenants' schedules to minimize disruption to their operations.
Despite the challenges, the project was completed on time and within budget, with minimal disruption to the tenants' operations. The result was a structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing roof that provided improved protection and insulation for the building.
