School Remediation and Refurbishment Project
Arrowsmith was engaged to reconstruct the roof and rebuild the collaborative space of the admin block at Rotorua Girls' High. The project was initiated due to water ingress, multi-faceted roofing issues, and minor flooding. The collaborative space was constructed with levels in some places higher than the floor level.
The project commenced in April 2021, after the competitive tender process and consent approval. The construction of the roof was protected by a shrinkwrap system, which mitigated weather delays. Once the scaffolding was removed in May, the civil works commenced. The onset of winter posed a challenge, and unprecedented sickness meant that available resources were low for extended periods of time. However, the retention tank and civil construction were completed in August 2022, and practical completion was achieved in September 2022.
During the project, the Arrowsmith team worked concurrently on the refurbishment of two bathrooms. The team's expertise and dedication ensured that the project was completed to a high standard and met the client's requirements. The end result is a revitalized admin block with a new roof and a fully reconstructed collaborative space that is now resistant to water ingress and minor flooding.
